Forget Me Not Hospice Children’s Fundraising Calendar

Here at Joda Freight, we have partnered with the charity Forget Me Not, a children’s hospice local to West Yorkshire as our chosen charity partnership. The hospice offers both clinical and emotional care, providing tailored support in their Russell House facility in Huddersfield and in the comfort of families’ own homes.  We have supported charities over the past few years, but decided this year to support one both local and worthwhile. To begin our support, we hosted a fundraiser day, raising over £2000 in donations for this charity! However, we aren’t stopping there. Here are some upcoming events you can support, and even participate in!

Race Across West Yorkshire

Race Across West Yorkshire is a unique, innovative fundraiser event. It uses the concept of the popular TV show, “Race Across the World”, and follows teams from an undisclosed starting location, where they will start the race at 8am. With a strict 12-hour time limit, teams must use their wits, teamwork, and resourcefulness to make it to the final destination. This is not just a race against the clock, but a test of strategy, stamina and skill. Each company can enter up to one team, with each team consisting of two people, with a minimum target of £500 to fundraise. The event takes place on 21 March 2025 so don’t delay, donate today!

Yorkshire Three Peaks – May 2025

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a demanding, 24-mile across the Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. It is accessible to any walker, with various fitness levels. You can take it on solo, or as a group. This is an incredible experience, with sublime landscapes, and is a fun way to raise money for charity through sponsorship. Each participant aims to raise £400 for Forget Me Not.

Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon 2025

The Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon supports the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Appeal and the MND Association. However, participants are allowed to raise money for any charity they see fit. It welcomes everyone, whether you run many marathons, or are completely unexperienced. Our co-owner, Kieron Talbot-Sykes has taken on the challenge to run his first marathon to support the hospice. If you fancied taking on the challenge of running for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, they will cover the £60 entry fee, as long as you raise at least £500 in donations.
